Looking towards the Grove

Well it's been a truly amazing & miraculous week!!! Monday after emails we went and played some more lazertag. Luckily this time my legs didn't hate me quite as bad. Tuesday after our service at the bike place they had a luncheon thing. Free food = we were there!!! It's at the Methodist church that we do service, and the luncheon was mostly old retired people. As we ate the local high school came and put on a show thing. A few different thoughts were running through my mind: 1) I hope that when I was in high school we didn't sound ANYTHING like that! and 2) it made me miss high school (only a little bit though!) Mostly I just am realizing how sweet it was in high school to do things like chamber choir & drumline... things I'll probably never be able to do again. I just wished I'd realized that 6 years ago (MAN I'm old!!!) when I just wanted to get out of school. Oh well. Wednesday night I attended my very first wedding for our investigator Lacrisha and her now-husband Quinn. It was SWEET!!! Thursday we had a pretty cool district meeting. There's a new tracting approach that's being used in our mission called "Gathering through the Grove" and it's way bold. Basically it helps us identify those who truly are prepared to receive us rather than those that are just trying to be polite & listen. The Spirit was very strong as we talked about our district's goals for this transfer and as we identified a plan of action to accomplish those goals. Afterward we headed to Firehouse, which Elder Brown had for the first time. For all of you who aren't aware, Firehouse is the most amazing sandwich place ever, and if you haven't been your life is pretty much incomplete! ;) Saturday was a sweet day. We had all day to be out & about just talking to people and finding new investigators, and we were able to find quite a few. That night once it'd gotten dark we found ourselves in a bit of a spot. Our appointment had fallen through and it was definitely too dark to tract (people get a bit creeped out when 2 strang ers knock on the door at night). We prayed that we'd still be able to use our night effectively, and suddenly a guy rides towards us on his bike that we recognize as someone we'd talked to a few days before. So we just started chatting, and we ended up going to the park and teaching him about the Restoration and the next day he was at church. Sunday was awesome! The testimonies that were borne in sacrament meeting were amazing. To top it all off this week 4 people set dates to be baptized.
I have no doubt that the Lord is VERY INVLOVED in this work... even in the little details. I have seen His hand in my life and in this work.
I know that God lives. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son. I know that They are seperate & distinct Beings who are unified in Their love for us. I know that in the spring of 1820 They appeared to the young Joseph Smith and spoke a message of peace to Him. That same message applies to all of us. As evidence of this great occurence God has brought forth The Book of Mormon, which is another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ and His ministry in the ancient America's. I know that it is true! I am aware that there are several reading this email that haven't had the opportunity to read this book, which truly contains the words of Christ. I would challenge you to read this book, to ponder in your hearts it's message, and then to ASK God if it is true. I PROMISE YOU in the name if Jesus Christ that you will receive an answer, and I bear testimony that it is true. I love you all very much. Until next week... Elder Borgia
