OK... to start off, I forgot a story from last week. So Elder Pinto and I had just finished tracting a neighborhood, and as we were walking back to our bikes we saw a sherrif's car turn onto the street. He drove slowly toward us, rolled down his window, and motioned for us to come over. Apparently someone had called the coppers on us, and even though we weren't doing anything illegal, he still had to talk to us. We basically chit-chatted for about 5-10 minutes while he ran our ID information through the system and logged us in as "field contacts" so that if there's a 'next time', if they swipe our IDs it'll tell them what we're doing and that he already talked to us. So, in all reality it wasn't terribly exciting, but at least I can now say that I've had the cops called on me! Anyhoo... on to this week. We had another lesson with Tom, who I mentioned last week. We taught the plan of salvation, and the Spirit was so strong. He tried to tell us he wasn't interested... but if someone is on the edge of their seat leaning forward to listen to everything you say and they readily invite you back for the next week... something tells me that they might be interested. But more important than all of that, the Spirit was very strong and I could tell that he felt it. So, I'll keep you updated on him. This week our washing machine broke, which means that we've been doing all of our washing at our neighbors house. When the repairman came, he ended up being a less-active member just a few years older than us. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!! Sunday was great... we've been working hard to get people to come to church, and this Sunday the Lord blessed us with 6 people at sacrament meeting... 2 that we weren't even expecting!!! I know that the Lord is intimately involved with this work! This week I've been studying charity a lot, and it's become so apparent to me that EVERYTHING relies on our hearts being filled with charity. Truly that is the great commandment: to love the Lord and to love our neighbors, and when we're filled wit h this love EVERYTHING ELSE FOLLOWS! This week is looking great... Elder Pinto's last. Amazingly, he's not trunky at all!!! I hope the same can be said of me when I'm on the home stretch!
