Still in Georgia

(Elder Thacker, rejoicing in his victory over the dead fly)
Yup... still in Georgia. I have moved about 30 minutes south to the city of Kingsland where I've joined Elder Thacker, but more on that later. First off, I'll tell you about my last few days in Brunswick. Monday was yet another lazy p-day. Tuesday was our last district meeting together, which was short and sweet. We had testimonies from the departing missionaries, and then picture time! Later on that day, we went to an appointment we had with a guy named Ira. HOLY MOSQUITOS!!! The entire time we were talking to him outside, we were swarmed! When I was teaching, I'd try my best ti ignore them and deal with it, but as soon as Elder Amesse starting teaching I started flailing my legs around in a vain effort to get them off me. At the end of the lesson we counted about 6 or 7 bites each. Needless to say, Benadryl was my friend on Tuesday. (When I get to the Spirit World, I'm going to ask what the point was for these bugs) Then we got home and there was a voicemail for us to call President Newman back... Elder Amesse is training and once again I'm serving as a zone leader, meaning I can kiss going to bed on time goodbye, and I might as well pack my journal. ;) Seriously though, I'm glad to do it. The elders in this zone are SWEET! So a lot of Wednesday was spent packing. Monday I bought some vacuum-packing bags, and when I used them on Wednesday MY MIND WAS BLOWN!!! Maybe I'm much too easily entertained/amazed, but I was amazed. On Tuesday President Newman told me where I would be serving, so on Thursday morning I skipped going to transfer meeting and just got a ride straight to Kingsland. This area is AWESOME!!! However, I am still SO lost! Elder Thacker is way cool. Luckily he's been here for 6 months already (meaning I might not be with him for too long) so he's been helping me try to get a handle on the area. In our ward boundaries (but in other missionaries area) is St. Mary's, which has a naval nuclear submarine base... the only one on the east coast. So there are A LOT of people in the ward that work for the navy. It's fun to hear them talk about it (although there's a lot of classified stuff they can't tell us). It's making me reconsider a career with the Navy (perhaps NCIS). So we'll see what happens with that. In other news, last night we went over to a family's home for dinner, and they fed us stir-fry. We were able to throw in whatever we wanted for our dinner, and I apparently went a bit too crazy on the red pepper (who would've thunk, right?) As soon as they put mine in the pan everyone started sneezing. Then it was unbearably spicy so I had to dilute it with lots more rice, so I ended up taking home about 2 or 3 meals worth! So yeah... exciting stuff, huh? Anyhoo... that's about it. Hope y'all are having a nice week. Love ya! -Elder Borgia
