UFO's!!!

Another week gone by already. So last Sunday night both Elder Amesse and I stayed up until about 2am talking. Needless to say, Monday we were exhausted, and as soon as we got back from shopping we took a 2 hour nap. One thing about both being new in the area is we keep getting lost. Brunswick itself isn't too big, but our area is sprawling with a few islands even, so we're having trouble getting around. Tuesday was our first district meeting here. It's weird to be back in the same district as I was when I was serving in Darien. We have an interesting bunch of elders together... to say the least. For lunch on Tuesday we went to Pizza Hut, which was ridiculously terrible! I think they were just bigoted rednecks who hated mormons. First they wouldn't let us put the tables together so we had to eat at 3 separate tables. Then they complained about needing to make more pizzas (it was a buffet), and then they would refill everyone's drinks except for our. We even asked, and they just glared at us and walked away. So that was our warm welcome. Oh well. Later that day we were tracting and a lady came to the door in work cloths with a paintbrush in her hand. We asked her what we could help with and she said we could help paint the entry way. We did so, and then she came in to ask us what church we were from, and we were able to tell her about the Book of Mormon and the Restoration. She seemed pretty excited about it. Her husband came home and was surprised to find us, and his wife excitedly asked us to teach him about it all too. They loved it! As we were leaving he said "You guys made my day! I came home from a hard day at work, and there were 2 guys painting my foyer... 2 WHITE guys!!!" So, we share the car with another set of elders, so on Wednesdays and Saturdays we are on bikes. It was HOT this week! Luckily I had my handy-dandy hanky with me to wipe my sweaty face every so often too didn't drip too much while teaching. There was one lady we were teaching, and she started going off about UFO's and how she saw one but the government is trying to cover it up and so she wants to tell everyone! It was very exciting. We also tracted into a less-active member of the RLDS church (for those who don't know, the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints broke off when Brigham Young led the Saints to Utah). It was weird to teach someone who already believed that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. So yeah... that was my fun and exciting week. I hope y'alls was equally amazing. Love ya! -Elder Borgia
