Twisters & a stoopid drain

Well this was an exciting week. I'll start at the end and go to the beginning. Friday we woke up and it was storming like crazy. A little after 9am it rained ridiculously hard for a few minutes and the wind was blowing really hard. We later learned that right then, about a mile north of us, a tornado went through downtown. One person died, and there was lots of damage. The power was out for most of the day, which made things fun. Saturday morning we had a baptism... Laura & Kaden. It was so awesome to see a mother & son come together into the gospel. I baptized Laura and Elder Christensen baptized Kaden. We'd gotten to the building pretty early to get everything all ready, and when it was time to do the actual baptism, we found that the font had slowly been draining so there was only about 3 feet of water left. So the first time I dunked Laura her knee camer up, so we had her kneel. Luckily Kaden is only 9, so he was no problem. After the service, we put on our work clothes and headed to Laura's parents where a tree had landed in their porch, so we spent the afternoon clearing it and stacking all of the wood. Their lucky... if the twister had landed the tree a few degrees more to the right, it would have crushed their trailer. So that was most of our excitement. Hope everything is well, with y'all... love ya! -Elder Borgia
