So this week was filled with some highs and lows. It's been an awesome week in terms of seeing our investigators progress, and seeing the zone progress. Remember that baptismal goal I talked about a few weeks ago? Well, there's been a huge outpouring of miracles, and by the end of next week (which is the end of the transfer) we should have 23 baptisms. I know that it's nothing we're doing... it's completely the Lord. I know that when we set our goals by the Spirit, He'll help us achieve them. Anyhoo... now let me step off of my soapbox. Tuesday we had lunch at Mexico Lindo, which is probably the most amazing place ever! As we were leaving, this drunk guy comes up to us and starts arguing with us. He keeps telling us that we're going to hell. When we ask why, we find out it's because we don't have a soup kitchen! I must've missed that requirement in the Bible... Obviously the true church would have a soup kitchen! That night we got very lost on the way to an appointment. We forgot to ask the members how to get to their house, so we figured we'd just look on a map. They just happened to live outside the ward boundaries, which is the first thing that confused us. That however, was just the beginning. We got to the right street, but realized we didn't remember the house number, so we figured we'd just look for their car. We couldn't find it, so we started going from house to house asking to use a phone to call them. There weren't a lot of people home, and when we finally found someone home, they didn't have a phone. Eventually we got to a phone, and got it all figured out. As luck would have it they'd be the one house with a dirt driveway set back a freaking mile from the rest of the road! Wednesday we had interviews with President Newman, which are always sweet. I tried to figure out from him what was going to happen at transfers, but he gave no signs or anything. Elder Christensen and I have been together about 4 1/2 months now, but I'd love to stay with him 6 more weeks. So it could go lots of different ways. We were kinda thinking we might get whitewashed... but now everything is picking up so we really hope we don't. I'll let you know next week. Saturday was a roller-coaster day. In the morning we were just goofing off, but in the afternoon we went to go see a potential investigator that we'd met about a week ago. He's probably the most prepared person I've met on my mission... and he told us not to come back. For both me & Christensen, that was the saddest we've been on our mission. Well, I don't want to end on a sad note... so... I'll tell you how things have been going at the gym. So a few weeks ago Christensen showed me some good workouts, and I can tell I've been getting stronger. Maybe by the time I get home I'll be thin & buff! (I can at least hope!) Love ya! -Elder Borgia
PS- Elder Christensen thinks I look like one of the devils from Hercules... whaddya think? (the skinny one)
